We have been coordinating with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with Todd, Kasim and Roger to do a meet and greet, photo op type thing at the museum on Monday Sept 7th [2009]. The timing details are still being worked out but you are all welcome to attend! It will be in the afternoon before the show. Good times! Word on the street
Though a shroud of secrecy has kept many of the details of the upcoming live re-creation of Todd Rundgren's classic album of the 70s, a few tempting morsels have slipped through the gaps. While many have assumed that the show will be a note-perfect rendition of the original studio breakthrough, insiders have hinted at something much more extravagant.
Apparently, this will be a production to rival Las Vegas and Broadway. Video accompaniment, special effects, and at least eight costume changes --- some incorporating original outfits from the AWATS era --- as well as a "special secret opening act" have all been rumored. While still stinting on the details, Rundgren confirms that this will be far beyond any of his recent tours in theatrical scope. "This is much more than a musical re-creation,” says Rundgren. “It will be a cultural event in the world of Todd fans".

Todd Rundgren today announced that he will film and record his A Wizard, A True Star concert for a forthcoming live DVD and live CD when he plays the Palace Theater in Stamford, Connecticut on 9th September. The two-disc set is scheduled for an early 2010 release through Music Publishing Corporation of America's label, Hi Fi Recordings.
The live recordings will include an all-star line-up consisting of former members of Utopia, The Cars, Meat Loaf's band, and The Tubes: Todd Rundgren (vocals, guitar), Roger Powell (synthesizers and keyboards), Greg Hawkes (synthesizers and keyboards), Kasim Sulton (bass), Jesse Gress (guitar), Bobby Strickland (percussion), and Prairie Prince (drums).
The tour will mark the first time Rundgren has performed the this highly influential prog rock album in its entirety (there are several songs from AWATS that have never been performed live anywhere, full-stop).
AWATS dates currently on sale include -

Independent artist and multi instrumentalist Eliot Lewis is currently a member of Hall & Oates and formerly The Average White Band and has been touring all over the world with them for over two years.
