Beverly Hills, California - (October 28, 2014) - Singer, songwriter, record producer and prolific instrumentalist Todd Rundgren will auction memorabilia from his personal and professional career at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills for the benefit of his Spirit of Harmony Foundation. The collection includes stage played instruments to personal clothing and will give fans and collectors a chance to bid on items which have become synonymous with Rundgren's legendary contributions to the world of music.
Rolling Stone magazine calls Rundgren an eclectically accomplished musician and virtuoso. He has been recording for more than three decades with his influence spanning simple pop to the progressive rock of Utopia. Aside from performing, he has served as producer on some of rock n' roll's most successful releases and is regarded as a pioneer of rock video, interactive CD and Web-based music. In his early career he was ahead of the time sporting Mod haircuts and Beatles-ish pop sound along with a musical sophistication when he formed the band Nazz in the late 1960s. After Nazz broke up, Rundgren formed Runt and hit the Top 20 in 1971 with the single "We Gotta Get You a Woman." In the early 1970s Rundgren had hit singles with "I Saw the Light" and "Hello It's Me." He also is known as a prolific producer with such credits as Meatload's "Bat Out of Hell," Badfinger's Straight Up LP, New York Doll's debut LP, Grand Funk Railroad's "We're an American Band," Fanny's Mother Pride and many others.

In late 2012, as Red Peters was busy monitoring his social media sites, he began receiving messages from fans in various cities about one of his most beloved songs. At shows across America, songwriter and record producer, Todd Rundgren and his band had been performing Red’s signature song “Blow Me (You Hardly Even Know Me)”.
Peters wrote and recorded the original “Blow Me” with the Babe Marino Orchestra in the summer of 1984. Initially released as a 45 rpm single, it became a cult favorite in jukeboxes across America and a staple on underground FM radio.
Since Red had recently begun working on an album concept that involved collaborating with other artists, he approached Rundgren and asked if he would like to sing a duet of the song to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original recording.
Rundgren (“Hello It’s Me”, “I Saw The Light”, “Bang The Drum All The Day”) agreed, and over the next several months, after settling on a suitable musical direction and a new big band arrangement by producer, Ed Grenga, each artist recorded their vocals virtually- Rundgren in Hawaii and Peters in Boston.
The result was a new, lively spoken introduction, and a fresh and classic interpretation of the song which also features background vocals from three of the original surviving members of the Alan Pinchloaf Singers.
NYC illustrator, Timothy Shamey reprises his talents, as he has on many of Red’s music projects, creating quintessential caricatures of both performers for the cover art.
The song, will be released September 9, 2014 on Ball Bag Records. It will be available in four versions: one with the spoken intro, one without, and both bleeped. It can be downloaded wherever fine music is sold, including iTunes, amazon, etc.

So, year 8 for RR is now in effect!
Just talked to RundgrenRadio Mel and we have agreed to announce a SAVE THE DATE! Block your calendars for the 2015 Labor Day weekend (9/4-7) because the odds are great we will be hosting another Bday Bash!
We are feeling good that this year's attendees wouldn't dare miss it. We are also confident that we would add others that couldn't make it this year because of our late announcement (i.e. Kim H, Keith K, etc) and Todd's annual camp being so close to Labor Day weekend when it's normally in June during his birthday week.
Our ideal situation would be to get a unique Todd gig and throw the party in Akron but it takes two to tango and if we can't get it done we'll still throw a party somewhere in the US barring any unforeseen circumstances out of our control.
Thanks again to all the attendees of RR BDAY BASH V who took a chance on us this year after talking us into hosting the Bday Bash - you have opened our eyes! See you next year if not before then - now go get some sleep
