Rock star Todd Rundgren has quite a few titles on his resume, including singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist.
He'll be performing two of his albums (1973's "Todd" and 1981's "Healing") in a theatrical concert Sept. 11 at Clowes Hall.
Rundgren will soon be able to add a new label to the list: Indiana University Wells Professor.
The rocker will be in Bloomington in late October and early November for the two-week gig.
The plan is for Rundgren, who lives in Kauai, Hawaii, when he isn't touring, to teach a class for students who attend IU under the prestigious Wells Scholars program.
Rundgren, best known for 1993 song "Hello It's Me," is expected to make a couple of public appearances -- an Oct. 28 lecture and a likely Oct. 31 storytelling concert, said IU rock history professor Glenn Gass, who is coordinating the visit. His summer home is near Rundgren's in Hawaii.

TR had some interesting revelations on RR this week. (Thank you Doug and Mel again for promotion, the unique concerts and, for us -the hard core fan- the most interesting/informative interviews).

If you missed the interview here are some highlights (my understanding of them):
- TR to produce Donny Osmond's next record.
- Fantasy record: He plans to recreate songs from records he has produced (other artists I think); pre-produce/record most/many of the songs, then have fans help make final recordings/overdubs. (Bobby Strickland, Larry Tagg, Prairie Prince may be involved too).
- TR may work on his new, original songs in (the summer?) of 2011
- Touring is hard: he's rethinking about being on the road so much. My interpretation: perhaps one venue for multiple nights (like Hollywood Bowl this summer), or Internet concerts, or you fly to him??
- A few surprises are planned for the Todd/Healing tour (costume changes may not as frequent, TR may play some keys)??
- A webcast is planned for Keswick,PA Todd/Healing show

Plus, there will be audio and video played on the big screen during parts of the interview. And, get this --- there will be a guitar on stage! What happens with said guitar is anyone’s guess.
v One of the Todd/Healing concerts will be held in Muskegon, MI and the World Premiere of the Toddstock movie will be held there the night before at Carousel Cinema and will be followed by a party. Famed rock musician Todd Rundgren is seeking groups of 12 - 15 mixed voice singers to perform background vocals on his upcoming tour this fall in the following cities:-
Wednesday, September 8
Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts, Muskegon, MI
Friday, September 10
Roberts-Orpheum Theatre, St. Louis, MO
Saturday, September 11
Clowes Memorial Hall, Indianapolis, IN

Todd's musical director will fly in for a one-day rehearsal with the group during the first week in September and there will be a three hour rehearsal with Todd and the band during sound check day of show. Charts can be sent in advance.
There is a $1,000 honorarium per group and a meal will be provided after the sound check.
This really is a great opportunity for a choir or ensemble to work with one of the nation's most highly regarded rock musicians and a chance to perform on a large stage in front of a new and different audience.
