more AWATS shows

The first-ever Todd Rundgren "A Wizard, A True Star" live performance on September 6th of this year is now officially sold out. A second performance for the next evening, September 7th (Labor Day), at the same venue in Akron has been booked and tickets are available at http://rundgrenradio.tix.com or www.Ticketmaster.com. For more information on these two shows, please visit www.AWATSlive.com. The venue website is www.AkronCivic.com .

A Kasim Sulton short set 45 minute solo gig for Sunday September 6th at 1pm will be announced soon and more information will be available at www.KasimStore.com within a few days. This Kasim performance will be held in the ballroom at the Akron City Centre Hotel which is the same spot for the RundgrenRadio.com B'day Bash 2 Party the previous evening. For more information about this free party for Todd fans attending the AWATS gig(s), please e-mail Rundgren Radio at rundgrenradio@earthlink.net.

On Wednesday, September 9th, Todd and company will be taking the show to Stamford, CT at the Stamford Center for the Arts Palace Theater. This will be the closest they get to NY that week and perhaps ever for the AWATS shows. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, July 18th, at 11am ET and they can be purchased exclusively at http://rundgrenradio.tix.com. For more information on this show, please visit www.AWATSlive.com. The venue website is http://www.stamfordcenterforthearts.org/home.cfm.

On Thursday, September 10th, Todd and company will be taking the show to Bethesda, MD at the Strathmore Hall. According to their website, tickets go on sale tomorrow July 16th at 10am ET. The venue website is http://www.strathmore.org/.

Finishing out the week, Todd and company will perform two nights in a row in Chicago on Saturday, September 12th, and Sunday, September 13th. Both shows will be at the Park West. Typically Todd shows sell out quickly at this venue and this should be no exception especially since the max capacity for these shows will be less than 900 per night due to the shows being reserved seating. Tickets will be available on www.Ticketmaster.com. The venue website is http://www.jamusa.com/Venues/ParkWest/Concerts.aspx.

Just in case you missed it, Todd's AWATS band for that week will include Jesse Gress, Greg Hawkes, Prairie Prince, Roger Powell, and Kasim Sulton.

In 2010, Todd will be taking AWATS to London on February 6th (www.SEEtickets.com) and Amsterdam on February 8th (www.paradiso.nl).

Be sure to check the TRconnection.com "Concert & Tour Info" page to keep up to date with all of Todd's upcoming concerts and for reviews and photos following each one!

Even if you're not planning to attend, join the Facebook group for ToddFest/West - http://www.facebook.com/pages/ToddFestWest/104446645822 - We'll be posting information, photos, videos and status updates prior to, during and after the fest.

As mentioned before, there is no charge for attending this year's Fest, but attendees should bring some food and drink to share for the potluck, and can voluntarily help support the Fest (whether you attend or not) by making a contribution of any amount via the PayPal link on the http://ToddFestWest.com web page.

In addition to sharing time with friends, swimming, sunning, musical parodies and all you've come to know and love at ToddFest/West, we are also working on having a special musical guest to perform at this year's fest (no, it's not Todd.) We are also encouraging those that attend that have "Day Job" merchandise to hawk to bring it for a special "merch table." We are already expecting health products, books and CDs. What else is up to you!

Debbie, Cece and I look forward to seeing many of you at ToddFest/West 2009!
