Hey "Todd fans", here's your chance to tell everyone how much you disliked everything about this show!
Why wait to actually see it?!
Be the first on your block to tell Todd to "hang it up!"...
It seems that this is the prevailing attitude amongst "fans" who I imagine at one time were actually die hard followers of The Wizard...
It seems that a lot of people are actually angry at Todd for the whole State period.
It's not his best work. We know that, but have a little respect for the true pioneer and genius that consistently blew our minds with his incredible sonic explorations...
Some may think this note is naive and idealistic, and that's fine with me.
I just get tired of seeing this forum being overtaken by, for a lack of a better term, haters.
Kinda sad in a way.
I hope to be as vital and ready to try new endeavors when I'm approaching my 70's as TR is...
I wish you peace (and the chance to see a Utopia reunion one of these days!)

I'm picturing "from 23rd " and "Winston Smith" sitting at an outdoor cafe together just indiscriminately yelling out tourette like miissives to no one in particular!
(As people nervously walk by them, picking up their pace a bit)

Todd delivered some of the best albums and live performances of anyone in (broadly defined) rock and roll. He had a remarkable run of forty-five years. Only Leonard Cohen and John Cale have remained vital and creative into their seventies. Even the sainted Beatles only had eight years.
It`s no shame at all that Todd has run out of melodies and ideas at his age. It`s a young person`s game.
I will be absolutely delighted if, in two years` time, I am proven wrong and Todd blows us all away again. I`m just not counting on it.

I would say that during the early and mid'70's Todd was perhaps the most brilliant, creative and truly 'unpredictable' force in rock. I adore the 3-sided Utopia
album as well as a few Todd tunes from his '80s period of slow decline. Leonard Cohen and John Cale seem comfortable in the own skin, and while they are great artists didn't have Todd's keen ear for catchy pop. That said, they wouldn't be caught dead touring with a C-list DJ spinning tuneless techno for the AARP set. The never-ending Ringo tours are possibly even more pathetic, seeing our hero play his clown drum song in Enid Oklahoma and Vermilliion South Dakota night after night just to pay for Michelle's failing concept restaurant. How sad.

You guys are so close minded. All I can say is Global is meant to be seen live, before you can actually appreciate what Todd means it to be. It's a completely different concept from anything he's ever put together in his line of performances. I saw this show last Sunday in Little Rock AR. It was one of the most fun, entertaining, energetic and clever Todd performances I've ever seen ( believe me, since 1975, I'm an experience TR concert goer so I speak the TRuth). Not only is he at the top of the game, but he's got as much to put out as any "young" person out there PLUS wit. Watch the streaming concert, put it up on a large screen, crank the volume and dance. You'll see things differently afterwards.
