Very excited about show and left with mixed feelings..always will be a fan and enjoyed the vibe of the band and the crowd(ToddHeads). Realize the complexities and lets face it we ain't youngsters anymore..all that was anticipated and calculated in...but still feel disappointed somewhat..missing que..lyrics..leads... DOO YA...wow, what happened? I know this won't fly well..but as I've stated..friends don't sugarcoat. Was going to drop another $40 for Sunday but... Luke
I am not one of those "Todd can do no wrong" fans. I love the man and have been with him through thick and thin. But I have (sort of) trashed him occasionally, on my blog, as well as on the Huffington Post. As you said, "friends don't sugarcoat." But Luke, "Do Ya?"
Yeah, ok. Miscues. Considering the depth of the Utopia material and how quickly this all came together, a complaint about a cover, which I will guess may have been a last minute addition, seems petty.
I respect your opinion, but I also had to add my two cents, as I was too moved by the whole shebang to not say something.
Sal, With all due respect... Doo Ya was the easiest of all material covered and was referred to only as a minor example of a few things that occurred, not the focus.. Reread the beginning in regards to band and crowd vibe..it was sincere..expectations of perfection were far from the mind when entering the venue. Listen, as mistakes and failures occur on stage it all compounds.. All intentions were right,agreed.. but from a paying fan's perspective it was to some degree disappointing. Best to you and look forward to catching your review. Luke
But fair enough, Luke. I was really disappointed with the AWATS show and my review said so. Even got a few readers hot and bothered, so I understand. Last night worked for me.
To Luke and Sal: Todd is Godd and don't forget it! All I can say is that both of you were so very lucky to be able to travel on the road to Utopia, I only wish I could have taken your places.

Things are only easy when you know them.

I stood behind a really tall guy, Marci. You'd be better off taking someone else's place.
