here's some info, the Global tour is a fiasco with fans fleeing from the concert in droves - save you hard-earned money

Seems fishy to me, too.

Does the typical venue for a Todd show these days even accomodate a drove?

And some of us are too old to really be fleeing...

I've never seen a Todd show where I regretted going, and expect to be entertained by the show in Tucson.

While I did not listen to the Rundgren Radio announcement (sadly, I already have plans for Labor Day), I have been to three Akron events and five RR events, and ALL were top notch. Doug and Mel and team do not disappoint.

the show in Cleveland had peopel walking out faster than if the fire alarm had been pulled. First time I have ever heard Todd fans boo and heckle him.

The longer this schism continues and the polarities that maintain, I wonder if what we have here is an old-fashioned generation gap.
Youngsters want to be a part of a genuine "counter-culture" (however dated) but TR co-evals realize that it`s been over for a long time and won`t play along.
That is crapola and this is shinola.
Sorry, kids: you missed it by a landslide. Even Todd only got in at the last minute.
None of this has mattered for a long time.
Let`s all give it up and find something more interesting to focus on.

Todd should focus on working off that beer belly if he's going to be a EDM dance god. That and paying his mortgage.

I saw them leave! The pathetic old fogies waiting for the 1970's hit parade. Hey! How about the SAME OLD SONGS played the SAME EXACT WAY as we relive our youth -sad . These arent real Todd fans and just dont get it. Just sad.
I enjoyed it and got tickets for his return in August!

So you decide who is a real Todd fan and who isn't? I don't think so.

You can be a Todd fan and hate the Global tour. You sound like some ISIS nut.

"I wouldn't ask too much of her," I ventured. "You can't repeat the past."

"Can't repeat the past?" he cried incredulously. "Why of course you can!"---The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald

I think it's Todd repeating the past not the audience; that's wy nobody can figure out if he's kidding us or not. Oh well! Are we all repeating the past when we listen to Mozart or Chopin or Duke Ellington? God forbid anybody should like something from the past. I'm guessing you also hate literature, fashion history, castles, museums and dinosaurs. Archeology, anthropology, science, etc.

Doing the same schtick or routine has been common for independent touring artists since the beginning of stage craft. In vaudeville it was especially difficult because the only way you could stand out was to have an "act" that became your trademark, your song, whatever. People loved you or hated you. And the vaudeville performers found that while they could adjust a little bit, they could not change who they were. People came to see them do a certain act, and however tired the performer got of this character, the audience came to see them more and more and loved them more and more. There was always somebody who hadn't seen it. And there was a LOT of competition. To be a star in vaudeville when practically everyone was trying to be on the stage (kind of like the garage bands) was a very big deal. They worked very hard perfecting what they did. If they couldn't keep the seats filled they would end up not being booked and having to go back to their day jobs.

I don't see the problem you have with people liking old music. You are permitted by the universe to enjoy an entire RANGE of music. You yourself get one day closer to death and shorter of breath each day. Did it occur to you that maybe some of these old codgers are younger at heart than you are, while you are trying to be part of whatever new fad pops up?

And what is a "true" fan versus a "fake" fan or whatever you are calling them? Does "true" mean you will joyfully support anything TR does even if it's hurting him, or believe any crap you read in the paper, or lie and say something's great when you don't really care for it? You sound like a cult member. Leave the older folks alone. They've been seeing Todd on stage since before you were born. I think they know his act better than you do by now. I personally enjoy hearing what they have to say, not denigrating it. I wasn't lucky enough to be around then, and I enjoy their stories. And BTW Todd is also an older person. Get used to it.

Thanks for the indirect defense, Anon.
One of the features of `70s TR concerts was his chatting to the audience. Yes, we were all much younger but it was an assumption of the "counter-culture" that those on-stage were essentially the same as those in the audience. We were a "society" and back then there was nothing "secret" about it.
Sure it was Romantic but it was valid (however transient) in a way that subsequent developments in stage presentations have not been. This, "Here ya go, thanks, g`night" vibe is a chilly reminder of what`s been lost.

Todd didn't play enough guitar on the unpredictable tour. Todd talked too much on the un pree diktable tour. He didn't talk enough on the Todd/Healing tour. That Arena tour didn't have any ballads at all & the Johnson tour was like no production just bluesy guitar songs.
That STATE tour was like way too much high-tec lighting & sparse lyrics & he just never gets it perfect for me. I have seen BonJovi & Def Leopard & Neil Diamond dozens of times & they always get it right. Why can't Todd just be like the Stones & roll along in the groove ?

The Stones play the same tired set very night, but they don't bring along a DJ or backup singers who can't sing worth a shit. The Global tour is a complete disaster with absolutely zero redeeming qualities. Todd has shit the bed with this garbage. Unpredictable was getting stale, but anything is better than this childish karaoke clown show.

If Ringo and Paul were to reunite, I would feel really ripped off if they didn't do some Beatle songs together no matter how long ago it was, and I'd be perfectly happy if they sounded just like the records. I love the rehearsal footage from Ringo's induction to RR Hall of Fame, even when they do covers like they did waaaaay back in the early 60s.

Karaoke clown ? I believe Todd sang live on every date he's ever done. He is not a versitle dancer
he is great at being himself & does his cool shuffle at only the right times. All his moves are great & meaningful. No one else has done half the variety of 'looks' & musical styles that Todd has. How could anyone not at least apppreciate songs like Secret Society & JUST ONE VICTORY ? For those TR ?FANS? the truth is stranger than fiction. My kids finally got to see Todd live in this tour & the travel & tickets were well worth the priceless experience. Your from South of the border.
